The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) is the state agency responsible for operating California’s prison and parole systems.
The only state prison in Los Angeles County is California State Prison, Los Angeles County (LAC), located in Lancaster. It is not to be confused with local jails operated by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, such as the Twin Towers Correctional Facility or the North County Correctional Facility.
Lancaster is a city in northern Los Angeles County, within the Antelope Valley region of the Mojave Desert.
