Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 52-year-old White/Caucasian male who passed away while incarcerated in prison.

The coroner’s office identified the man as James East.

Manner of Death: Natural

Cause of Death: Atherosclerotic and Hypertensive Cardiovascular Disease

RIP JAMES EAST (April 12, 1974 – April 19, 2026)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Sunday.

CDCR stated the decedent was either in general housing or on the prison grounds of the facility in Lancaster.
