Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 62-year-old Black male that occurred at his residence.
The coroner’s office has identified the man as Donyeld Bowen.

Cause of Death A: Ischemic Heart Disease
Cause of Death B: Atherosclerotic Coronary Artery Disease
Other Significant Condition: Medical History of Diabetes Mellitus

The Department of Medical Examiner publicly disclosed the CoD ruling on September 8, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back negative for substances.
Ischemic heart disease is a condition where the blood flow to the heart muscle is reduced due to narrowing or blockage of the coronary arteries. This decreased blood supply, typically caused by the buildup of plaque in the arteries, can lead to serious complications.
Notably, ischemic heart disease can result in a heart attack, where a complete blockage in a coronary artery causes part of the heart muscle to die due to lack of oxygen. Additionally, it can trigger cardiac arrest, a sudden stop in heart function often caused by electrical disturbances in the heart, which can be fatal if not treated immediately.
