Belarusian

According to the 2000 US Census, there were 38,505 people born in Belarus living in the United States.

Estimates suggest there are around 600,000 Belarusian Americans in total when including descendants.

Precise numbers are difficult to determine as early Belarusian immigrants were often recorded as Russian or Polish in census data when Belarus was part of the Russian Empire or Soviet Union.

There is a significant Belarusian-American community present in Los Angeles, with concentrations in areas like West Hollywood, Hollywood, and Miracle Mile.

The community has seen a small uptick in recent years due to political unrest in Belarus, with many fleeing the country.

Local Belarusians suffer from markedly high rates of alcholism, drug overdoses, and suicides.
