(L.A.) Vera Ishutina Michaelson, 33, Killed by Her Husband

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 33-year-old Caucasian female that occurred in a driveway.

The coroner’s office has identified the woman as Vera Michaelson of California. Originally from Minsk, Belarus.

Manner of Death: Homicide

Cause of Death: Multiple Gunshot Wounds of Head

RIP VERA MICHAELSON (May 2, 1978 – June 15, 2011)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Wednesday at 6:55 p.m.

This was ruled a murder-suicide. Vera Ishutina was reportedly shot in the head several times by her husband Alex Michaelson, who then killed himself. Their two daughters, 5 and 7, were not at home at the time.

Location: 15000 block of Sherview Place in Sherman Oaks

Time: between 11:00 am and noon on a Wednesday, dead bodies found by police at about 6:40 pm, formal declaration of death at 6:55 pm

Vera was the sister of Maxim Ishutin who would be found dead in a garage in January 2023, less than a year after his wife filed divorce papers in court.

At the time of her death, Vera had just completed a master’s program in dental school at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She had also attended California State University, Northridge, and Belarus State University of Technology.
