(L.A.) Muudea Sedik, 23, Died From an Overdose

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 23-year-old Black male that occurred at his place of residence.

The coroner’s office identified the young man as Muudea Sedik.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Morphine Toxicity

Other Significant Condition: Mitragynine Use

RIP MUUDEA SEDIK (December 17, 2000 – February 13, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Tuesday at 8:53 p.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on August 16, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back positive for the drugs. Mitragynine is commonly known as kratom.

The decedent was famous as the Youtube prankster Twomad. A Canadian national, he was of Ethiopian descent.

TwoMad had over 2 million subscribers on YouTube at the time of his death. This last video of his was posted on the platform a year ago, though he continued to be active on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Official manner of death has to be one of the following: natural, accident, suicide, homicide, undetermined.

Most drug overdoses are ruled as accidental because they are presumed to be unintentional deaths — the users did not intend to die. The only time a drug overdose is ruled a suicide is when the deceased leaves a suicide note or there is explicit evidence of suicidal ideation immediately before the act.

If the drug dealers are known, they can theoretically be prosecuted for the death. But that rarely happens in L.A. County if the victim is not a high-profile rapper or a young teen on TV news.
