Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 45-year-old Black male that occurred near the intersection of Florence and Western avenues.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Michael Meadows.

Manner of Death: Homicide

Cause of Death: Gunshot Wound of Neck

RIP MICHAEL EDWARD MEADOWS (December 2, 1977 – June 28, 2023)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Wednesday at 1:14 a.m.

The decedent was fatally shot by police after firing gunshots near officers conducting a traffic stop in the Manchester Square area.

“Officers were conducting a traffic stop for a red-light violation in the area of Western Avenue and Florence Avenue when officers heard and saw a male fire several shots,” the Los Angeles Police Department said in a statement.

“Officers returned fire [and] the suspect was struck by gunfire,” police said. “The Los Angeles Fire Department responded and pronounced the suspect deceased at scene. A firearm — a ghost gun — was recovered at scene and will later be booked as evidence. Who the suspect’s intended target (was) is under investigation.”

Police had earlier said that as the officers were conducting the traffic stop, the suspect approached them on foot and opened fire on them, prompting them to return fire.

No pigs were injured during the incident.

LAPD initially LIED and told media that the suspect was firing towards them. ⬇️

A month later, on July 28, LAPD released video of the interaction showing multiple angles.

The man was at a strip mall adjacent to where the traffic stop was being conducted. He was shooting at lights in the strip mall anchored by the “Golden Market” convenient store.

Meadows was not even aware that the cops were there conducting a traffic stop. He only turned towards them after they started shooting at him.

ABC7 ran the headline that the cops were ambushed. How can there be an ambush when the man didn’t even know the cops were there?

The shooting suspects have been identified as Hooman Nafissi and James T. Harvey of 77th Division.

Arrington was a 52-year-old homeless man suffering from bipolar disorder who was tazed and severely beaten by eight hogs because his beach umbrellas was too big.
