(L.A.) Brian Malter, 63, Died in LASD Custody

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 63-year-old White/Caucasian male that occurred while in jail at the Twin Towers Correctional Facility.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Brian Malter.

Blond hair. Brown eyes. Height: 5 feet 8 inches. Weight: 175 pounds

Manner of Death: Natural

Cause of Death A: Probable Sepsis

Cause of Death B: Cellulitis, Bilateral Feet

Other Significant Conditions: Covid-19 and Human Rhinovirus/Enterovirus (Nasopharyngeal); Acute Esophageal Necrosis; Coronary Artery Disease; Dilated Cardiomyopathy; Schizophrenia; Hyperglycemia

RIP BRIAN CRAIG MALTER (January 27, 1960 – June 17, 2023)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Saturday at 7:48 p.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on October 4.

The decedent was found lifeless inside his cell at TTCF, 450 Bauchet St. Los Angeles CA 90012.

He had been arrested by Redondo Beach PD on June 2, 2023, and had been pre-sentenced for assault.
