(L.A.) Richard Cervantes, 47, Died in an Abandoned Building

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 47-year-old Latino male that occurred in an abandoned building.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Richard Cervantes.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Fentanyl and Methamphetamine Toxicity

RIP RICHARD CERVANTES (March 1, 1978 – March 28, 2025)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Friday at 11:29 a.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on May 31, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab.

This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.
