(L.A.) Matthew Schubert, 39, Died on a Sidewalk

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 39-year-old White/Caucasian male that occurred on a sidewalk.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Matthew Schubert.

Manner of Death: Natural

Cause of Death A: Sepsis

Cause of Death B: Streptococcus pyogenes Infection

Cause of Death C: Hidradenitis Suppurativa

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Sunday.

The Department of Medical Examiner publicly disclosed the CoD ruling on August 29.

Hidradenitis suppurativa is a chronic inflammatory skin disease that itself is rarely a direct cause of death but is associated with increased mortality risk, primarily due to related cardiovascular diseases and secondary infections. HS can predispose patients to systemic inflammation and infections that might lead to sepsis.
