Cause of Death: Blunt Traumatic Injuries

RIP FRANCISCO MORA (January 11, 1978 – January 27, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Saturday at 12:02 a.m.

The decedent was fatally injured when the SUV he was driving crashed into a big rig that was exiting the San Diego (405) Freeway into the Carson Weigh Station.

California Highway Patrol stated that the crash happened at around 11:20 p.m. on the northbound San Diego Freeway near the weigh station between Avalon Boulevard and Main Street.

The 2019 Buick Encore was found wedged underneath the trailer of the 2020 Freightliner Cascadia and both were blocking the right two lanes of the freeway.

Investigators at the scene determined that the Buick rear-ended the big rig driven by a Durham, North Carolina, man as the truck driver slowed in the exit lane to go to the Carson scales.
