Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 17-year-old female that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office identified the teenage girl as Catherine Strobel.

Cause of Death: Ruptured Saccular Aneurysm of the Right Internal Carotid Artery Terminus

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Wednesday.

The decedent died from a berry aneurysm, the most common type of cerebral aneurysm, typically forming as a small, balloon-like outpouching on the wall of an artery in the brain.
