(L.A.) Carlos Lopez, 44, Died on a Sidewalk

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 44-year-old Latino male that occurred on a sidewalk.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Carlos Lopez.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Effects of Methamphetamine

Other Significant Condition: Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease

RIP CARLOS LOPEZ (July 9, 1980 – February 17, 2025)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Monday at 11:30 a.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on April 23, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab. This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.

Note that there are multiple decedents named “Carlos Lopez” in public records.
