Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a Black female that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office has identified the infant girl as Za’Riyah Herbert.

Cause of Death: Complications of Prematurity

RIP ZA’RIYAH HERBERT (June 19, 2023 – October 5, 2023)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Thursday at 9:17 a.m.

The Department of Medical Examiner publicly disclosed the CoD ruling on April 26.

The child was about three and a half months old.
