Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 21-year-old male of Caucasian ethnicity that occurred at a park.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Wesley Dettra.

Manner of Death: Suicide

Cause of Death: Gunshot Wound Of Head

Height: 5’7″ Weight: 145 pounds

Wesley Dettra was a security guard in Valencia, California, licensed by Bureau of Security and Investigative Services, an agency of California Departement of Consumer Affairs (DCA). The license was issued on April 15, 2022, with license number #6612741. The registered address is 28615 Solana Ct, Valencia, CA 91354-3098.

NEWS REPORT ON A MAN DEAD FROM A GUNSHOT

Around 6:47 a.m. Wednesday, first responders received reports of a cardiac arrest call on the basketball courts at Northbridge Park on the 27300 block of Grandview Drive in Santa Clarita.

As of Thursday, it is believed that the man took his own life.

“There was no evidence of a crime,” said Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station, at the time of the incident.

Deputies found the deceased in the middle of the basketball courts at Northbridge Park, lying next to a shotgun, in the 27300 block of Grandview Drive in Valencia. The park is adjacent to Charles Helmers Elementary School.
