Vegas Shooter’s Girlfriend Back in USA, Releases Statement

Marilou “Malou” Danley landed in Los Angeles Tuesday night.

Wednesday afternoon, her lawyer Matthew Lombard read her statement in front of the FBI headquarters in Los Angeles.

I am devastated by the deaths and injuries that have occurred and my prayers go out to the victims and families and all those that have been hurt by these awful event. I have faith in God and I will continue to pray…

I am a mother and grandmother and my heart breaks for all that have lost loved one. I knew Steven Paddock as a kind, quiet caring man. I loved him and hoped for a quiet future…. He never said anything to me… that I understood that something horrible was going to happen.

A little more than two weeks ago Steven told me that he found a cheap ticket for me to the Philippines… Like all Filipinos abroad I was excited to see family and friends.

While there he wired me money which he said was for me to buy a house for me and my family… I was worried the unexpected trip home and the the money was an unexpected way to break up with me….

I have not made a statement until now because I have been cooperating with the authorities. I voluntarily flew back to America… I will cooperate fully with their investigation. Anything I can do to help ease suffering I will do.

Please respect my privacy.

The Filipina girlfriend of Stephen Paddock, who committed the worst mass shooting in American history, is back to the United States.

She was questioned by FBI agents upon her arrival at LAX. Because she is not accused of any crime, she is free to go where she pleases.

Marilou Danley, 62, who lived for a time in Australia, was out of the country at the time of the shooting.

A bulletin was put out for Ms. Danley immediately after her boyfriend Steve killed himself in his Mandalay Bay hotel room Sunday night. It was discovered sometime Monday morning that she was not in the country at the time of the massacre, but was instead in her country of her birth, the Philippines.

Later, examination of her boyfriend’s financial transactions unearthed a recent bank wire of $100,000 to the Philippines. This was one of the factors that prompted the FBI to ask for her to come back stateside for questioning. Her return was coordinated by U.S. and Philippine authorities.

The plane carrying Marilou arrived at L.A.X. Tuesday night.

Travel records show Danley, who uses an Australian passport, traveled to the Philippines on September 15. She flew from Manila to Hong Kong on September 22 and then returned to Manila three days later on September 25.

Date of birth: December 12, 1954
Height: 4 feet, 11 inches
Weight: 111 pounds
Maiden surname: Bustos

No, she is not Muslim. Her father’s last name makes it likely she’s from the Pampanga area on the large island of Luzon, far away from any Muslim strongholds in the south.

To what does she credit her young looks and good health to? Zumba. (Not a joke.)

It was while Marilou was a hostess at the Atlantis that she and Steve met.

* Fake-news purveyor Newsweek retracted their story that Marilou was committing bigamy and illegaly using two Social Security numbers.
