Poland’s Former FM Credits US for Damage to Russia-Germany Pipeline

Radek Sikorski, former FM and currently chairman of the EU-USA delegation in the European Parliament, has publicly tweeted that it was the United States that caused damaging leaks to the Nord Stream 2 pipeline that had been built to transfer gas from Russia to Germany.

The pipeline has apparently been sabotaged to prevent any chance of Germany ever again being supplied with gas by Russia on a significant basis in the near future.

Joe Biden hinted in February that this would be done. In fact, after tweeting the above thanks, Sikorski then retweeted the following video clip in which Biden expressed the U.S. government’s stance on the Nord Stream 2 pipeline in the wake of what Russia’s military operation in Ukraine.

Sikorski served as Minister of Foreign Affairs in Prime Minister Donald Tusk’s cabinet between 2007 and 2014.

Nord Stream 2 is currently leaking natural gas into the Baltic Sea right by Denmark.

The Danish Energy Agency has placed the energy sector on orange alert, the second highest level, amid the multiple Nord Stream gas leaks.

“Probably.”
