(L.A.) Thomas Gray, 36, Died in a Hospital

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 36-year-old White/Caucasian male that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Thomas Gray.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Sequelae of Diabetes Mellitus

Other Significant Condition: Effects of Fentanyl and Methamphetamine

Drug deaths are frequently classified as accidents under the assumption that the users didn’t intend to kill themselves. If he had just died from diabetes without drugs in his history, this would have been classified a natural death.
