On June 20, 2021, Charlie Zink died in New Hampshire reportedly after drowning in a pond. An autopsy revealed unusual heart damage. He had received the Pfizer shot on June 14.

On July 4, 2021, James DeAngelo, 23 years of age, died reportedly after drowning in the Monongahela River. There was speculation it may have been a “rare” case of electrocution in the water.

Out of more than 150,000 death records that the L.A. County coroner has made public since the 1990s, about 1,860 cases involve drowning.
