(L.A.) Sterling Blanche, 52, Died in Prison

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 52-year-old Black male that occurred in prison.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Sterling Blanche.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Acute Methamphetamine Intoxication

Other Significant Condition: Hypertensive Cardiovascular Disease

RIP STERLING BLANCHE (February 26, 1972 – December 11, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Wednesday at 9:58 p.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on March 21, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab. This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.
