The coroner’s office has identified the man as Sammy Oquinn.

Cause of Death: Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease

Other Significant Condition: Diabetes Mellitus

RIP SAMMY O’QUINN (April 21, 1967 – October 12, 2025)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Sunday.

The decedent had a long rap sheet for burglary and drug offenses, with an arrest by LAPD as recently as April 2024.
