(L.A.) Robert Staebell, 70, Died in Jail

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 70-year-old White/Caucasian male that occurred in jail.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Robert Staebell of Long Beach.

Hair: Gray / Eyes: Brown

Height: 5 feet 11 inches / Weight: 190 pounds

Manner of Death: Natural

Cause of Death: Atherosclerotic and Hypertensive Cardiovascular Disease

RIP ROBERT STAEBELL (October 19, 1953 – August 29, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Thursday at 10:53 a.m.

The decedent was found lifeless inside his cell at Twin Towers Correctional Facility (TTCF), which is located at 450 Bauchet Street, Los Angeles, CA 90012.

He had been arrested by Redondo PD on August 10 for public intoxication and for failure to register as a sex offender.

This is LASD’s 23rd in-custody death for the year.
