(L.A.) Paarth Bhakta, 29, Died From a Polydrug OD

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 29-year-old male that occurred at his residence.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Paarth Bhakta and listed his race/ethnicity as Middle Eastern or North African [sic].

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Alprazolam, Bromazolam, Acetyl Fentanyl, Fentanyl, Fluorofentanyl, and Methamphetamine Toxicity

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Sunday at 5:57 p.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published in late March, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab. This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, polydrug overdose.

The decedent’s name appears to be South Asian, likely Indian.
