Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 43-year-old Hispanic female that occurred at a residence.
The coroner’s office has identified the woman as Naomi Mendez.
Manner of Death: Homicide
Cause of Death A: Gluteal Abscess & Sepsis Associated with Inanition & Dehydration
Cause of Death B: Untreated Diabetes with Ketoacidosis
Other Significant Conditions: Metastatic Adenocarcinoma of Rectum; Cirrhosis

Inanition is the medical term for starvation. At the time of her death, the decedent weighed 78 pounds.
Formal pronouncement was made on Tuesday at 6:37 p.m.
Twin sisters Justine Rosales and Jasmine Nicole were arrested by Covina police for the death of their mother. They were charged with elder abuse or dependent adult abuse resulting in death.
In February 2010, the sisters pleaded no contest to elder abuse resulting in the death of their invalid mother and were immediately sentenced to state prison by a Superior Court commissioner in Pomona.
