Melanie Martinez Accused of Rape by Ex-Friend Timothy Heller
You read the headline right… but no, Timothy Heller is not male; she’s a female ex-friend of “The Voice” alum Melanie Martinez. This is therefore a woman-on-woman rape accusation. When was the last time you heard of such an incident?
Singer Melanie Martinez, who rose to fame competing on season three of NBC’s “The Voice,” is accused by a former friend of sexual assault. The alleged incident was detailed by Timothy Heller, herself an aspiring musician, in a series of tweets posted on Monday afternoon.
When I wrote this story about my assault, I initially wasn’t going to make the abuser. But I think it’s important for you all to know this is about Melanie Martinez pic.twitter.com/4PQ5oNI2s9

The Los Angeles-based Heller recounted a night during which she “repeatedly said no” to Martinez’s sexual advances. Heller accuses Martinez of forceful penetration with a sex toy, among other acts.
Martinez and Heller have a friendship that dates back to around the year 2015.
At 11:30 p.m. Friday night, a few hours after the accusation starting trending on Twitter, Martinez posted a response on her own account, writing, “I am horrified and saddened by the statements and story told by Timothy Heller. What she and I shared was a close friendship … We tried to help each other. We both had pain in dealing with our individual demons… She never said no to what we chose to do together. And although we parted ways, I am sending her love and light always.”

No word yet on whether Heller has filed a report with the Los Angeles Police Department.

UPDATE: Abigail Breslin jumped into the fray on the side of Timothy Heller with the following tweets:
Melanie this is a completely unacceptable response. Not saying no doesn’t mean yes. But for the record, she did and has stressed that numerous times. Shame on you for this disgusting reply that contributes to the victim culture we live in. @MelanieLBBH https://t.co/4nxCbxzofh
