(L.A.) Madelyn Metzger, 17, Died in a Yard

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 17-year-old Caucasian female that occurred in a yard in Long Beach.

The coroner’s office identified the teenage girl as Madelyn Metzger, resident of Hillside Drive.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Drowning

RIP MADELYN ROSE METZGER (December 18, 2004 – August 10, 2022)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Wednesday at 5:13 p.m.

The decedent drowned in the swimming pool of her own residence.

Her father filed a lawsuit against Dutch health guru Wim Hof alleging that breathing exercises advocated by Hof were responsible for the teen’s death.

There apparently have been over a dozen cases of underwater hypoxic blackout that are assumed to be linked to Wim Hof’s breathwork methods.
