Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 44-year-old Black female that occurred in jail.

The coroner’s office has identified the woman as Lakisha Jefferson.

Height: 5 feet 5 inches / Weight: 170 pounds

Manner of Death: Natural

Cause of Death: Acute Bacterial Pneumonia

RIP LAKISHA MARIE JEFFERSON (April 2, 1981 – June 14, 2025)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Saturday at the Century Regional Detention Facility.

LASD mistakenly noted that the decedent’s age as 45.

She had a rap sheet that included an arrest in April for robbery.
