Case Number: 2024-01997

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 42-year-old Asian male that occurred on railroad tracks.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Lachhuman Shahi.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Effects of Fentanyl and Ethanol

RIP LACHHUMAN SHAHI (May 7, 1981 – January 31, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Wednesday at 7:42 p.m.

The Department of Medical Examiner publicly disclosed the CoD ruling on April 2, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back positive for the drugs.

This is classified as an accidental or unintentional overdose because the decedent had no intention of killing himself.

He was of Nepalese descent (from Nepal).
