RIP JUAN NAVARRETE (1973 – August 15, 2026)
Formal pronouncement of death was made on Saturday.
There were multiple overpass-related incidents on this day including a traffic collison on the northbound I-5 at around 8:22 a.m., in which a woman died.
Decedent above was a jumper at around the same time on Eastbound I-105 / Norwalk Metro Station Off-Ramp (exiting to Studebaker Road).
A gray Chevrolet Equinox (license plate: 8NWF324) was found parked on the transition road, not at the scene of the body, but is believed to have belonged to the jumper.

Map views show only an approximate location and do not represent the exact site of the incident.
The likely sequence of events:
The man pulled his gray Chevy Equinox onto the elevated 105-to-605 transition road, parked it, turned his hazards on, and jumped from the elevated transition road down to the lower Metro Station off-ramp below. That explains why the Reporting Party saw a body on the off-ramp with no cars around it, and why officers had to search the transition road above to find his abandoned vehicle.
Officers brought the towed car down from the transition road to the body scene so the coroner could photograph the vehicle and collect evidence.
