Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 19-year-old Black male that occurred in a vehicle in Compton.
The coroner’s office identified the young man as William Leapart.

Cause of Death: Gunshot Wound of Head

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Thursday night.
The decedent was apparently driving a white four-door car when he was shot. His car ended up crashing head-on into a utility pole in the 14000 block of South Stanford Avenue.
He had an arrest last year in Orange County for assault with a deadly weapon.
