The coroner’s office identified the man as Kenneth Vela and listed his race/ethnicity as White/Caucasian + Latino.

Born in L.A. County. Mother’s maiden name is Marquez.

Manner of Death: Suicide

Cause of Death: Incised Wound of Wrist

Other Significant Condition: Arteriosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Wednesday at 1:05 p.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on September 14, presumably after the results of tox screening came back negative for substances.
