(L.A.) Javier Tamayo Hernandez, 49, Died on a Street

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 49-year-old Latino male that occurred on a street in the Manchester Square neighborhood of South L.A.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Javier Tamayo Hernandez.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Multiple Blunt-Force Injuries

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Sunday night.

The decedent was crossing a street when he was hit by a vehicle that then failed to stop to render aid.

LAPD responded to the intersection of South Western Avenue and West 82nd Street at around 9:30 p.m.

There is currently a $50,000 reward for any information that could lead to the apprehension of the driver. The vehicle is believed to have been a tan GMC SUV with LED lights on the side running boards; it was last seen driving east on 81st Street from Western Avenue.
