(L.A.) Jaime Hernandez, 59, Died in a Shelter

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 59-year-old Latino male that occurred in a shelter.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Jaime Hernandez.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Fentanyl and Methamphetamine Toxicity

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Tuesday at 3:07 p.m.

The Department of Medical Examiner publicly disclosed the CoD ruling on August 12, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back positive from the lab. This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.

Note that there are multiple decedents named “Jaime Hernandez” in public records.
