(L.A.) Huy Nguyen, 44, Died at Twin Towers

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 44-year-old Asian male that occurred at a prison/correctional facility.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Huy Nguyen.

Manner of Death: Natural

Cause of Death A: Acute Asthma Exacerbation

Cause of Death B: Chronic Bronchial Asthma

Other Significant Condition: Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease

RIP HUY DUC NGUYEN (May 20, 1981 – July 11, 2025)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Friday.

The decedent was of Vietnamese descent. He died inside his cell at Twin Towers Correctional Facility (TTCF) in downtown L.A. This is LASD’s 25th in-custody death for the year.

He had a rap sheet that included an arrest by Pomona PD on June 9. Most of his arrests were from indecent exposure, public intoxication and trespassing.
