Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 77-year-old Black male that occurred at a residence.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Gordon Scruggs.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Methamphetamine Toxicity

RIP GORDON SCRUGGS (February 5, 1947 – February 13, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Tuesday at 8:00 p.m.

The Department of Medical Examiner publicly disclosed the CoD ruling on August 13, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back positive for the drug.
