(L.A.) Everette Harris, 54, Died in a Hospital

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 54-year-old Black male that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Everette Harris.

Manner of Death: Natural

Cause of Death: Hypertensive Arteriosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease

Other Significant Condition: History of Diabetes

The decedent was popularly known as E. Lynn Harris, an openly gay author. He is best known for his depictions of African-American men who were on the down-low and closeted. He authored ten consecutive books that made The New York Times Best Seller list, making him among the most successful African-American or gay authors of his era.
