(L.A.) Eduardo Muñoz, 51, Died in Whittier

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 51-year-old Latino male that occurred in a vehicle.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Eduardo Muñoz.

Manner of Death: Homicide

Cause of Death: Gunshot Wounds of the Head

RIP EDUARDO MUÑOZ (November 15, 1973 – July 24, 2025)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Thursday.

At approximately 11:05 am, Whittier PD officers responded to the area of Pickering Avenue and Penn Street regarding gunshots heard in the area.

Upon arrival, officers located a male adult subject suffering from gunshot wounds in the driver’s seat of a vehicle.

Los Angeles County Fire responded to the scene and pronounced the victim deceased.

Note that the government investigator had initially given the decedent’s name as Edward.
