(L.A.) Shahriar Heydari, 58, Died The Day After Thanksgiving 🧁

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 58-year-old male of “Middle Eastern” ethnicity at a residence.

The Coroner’s office has identified the man as Shahriar Heydari.

Manner of Death: Suicide

Cause of Death: Toxic Effects of Mirtazapine, Fluoxetine, and Alprazolam

A search online reveals Heydari is a medical doctor of Persian descent. He was originally from Tehran, Iran.

Doctor Heydari posted on Facebook that he started working as an internist at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in L.A. in the year 2020. He received certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine.

On New Year’s Day, the “Gastro Doc” Saleem A. Desai of Northridge Hospital Medical Center passed away unexpectedly. The L.A. County coroner’s office does not have information on his death. He was 53.

In May, another doctor affiliated with Cedars Sinai, Jay M. Goldberg, died from a heart attack while out riding his bike inside Will Rogers State Park. The coroner lists his primary cause of death as myocardial infarction(s) and a secondary cause as coronary artery atherosclerosis. He was 53.

In July, two Toronto-connected medical doctors of Iranian descent died of cardiac events. Dr. Baharan Behzadi was 43 when she died in her sleep. Dr. Shariar Jalali Mazlouman was 44 when he died while swimming in a community pool.
