(L.A.) David Terhune, 66, Died at a Residence

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 66-year-old White/Caucasian male that occurred at his residence in University Park.

The coroner’s office identified the man as David Terhune. Born in L.A. County.

Manner of Death: Natural

Cause of Death: Dilated Cardiomyopathy

RIP DAVID TERHUNE (June 3, 1959 – October 7, 2025)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Tuesday.

The decedent’s body was found by firefighters as they were battling a blaze at 2353 South Portland Street near USC.

LAFD had dispatched 47 firefighters at around 1:50 p.m. to the 2300 block of Portland, two blocks east of Hoover Street, where flames were burning in a second-floor unit of a three-story apartment building.

The fire was completely extinguished by 2:10 p.m.
