(L.A.) Bertha Mora, 76, Died in Long Beach

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 76-year-old Hispanic female.

The coroner’s office identified the woman as Bertha Mora.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Traumatic Injuries

RIP BERTHA MORA BARBOSA (August 1949 – September 12, 2025)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Friday.

The old lady was crossing 68th Street within a marked crosswalk when she was hit by a 2018 Chevrolet Camaro that was traveling southbound on Long Beach Boulevard in the far right lane.

Long Beach PD responded at around 12:16 p.m. near Long Beach Boulevard and 68th Street.

The Camaro’s driver failed to stop to render aid, but he was arrested within the hour. Eric Dewayne Moody, 65, was booked on one count of vehicular manslaughter and one count of felony hit-and-run. His bail was set at $50,000.

* Note the the government investigator had initially stated that the decedent was male.
