(L.A.) Arvel Jackson Jr., 36, Died in a Hospital

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 36-year-old Black male that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Arvel Jackson Jr.

Born in Los Angeles County. Mother’s maiden name is Anderson.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Drowning

RIP ARVEL JACKSON (January 12, 1987 – July 17, 2023)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Monday at 2:22 p.m.

In early November 2023, the government agency in charge of death notices added a “Jr.” to the decedent’s name, despite his California birth record not having that suffix.

He drowned in the lake at Magic Johnson Park in Willowbrook.
