Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 35-year-old Caucasian female that occurred at her apartment residence.
The coroner’s office has identified the woman as Alison Cohen.
Manner of Death: Suicide
Cause of Death: Pentobarbital Toxicity

Of the over 160,000 death records made public by the county’s medical examiner since the 1990s, about 45 mention suicide by pentobarbital.
Pentobarbital is a drug within the barbiturate class that works primarily on the central nervous system. At low doses, indications include short-term sedatives to treat insomnia and as a pre-anesthetic for surgery. At higher doses, pentobarbital serves as an anticonvulsant for emergent seizure control and medically induced comas.
