The decedent was fatally injured in a rear-end collision with a parked ambulance in Long Beach.

She was a passenger in a car being driven by 27-year-old Long Beach resident Christian Casillas, who was drunk.

Casillas was speeding along an area of Shoreline Drive where it transitioned onto the 710 Freeway near Seventh Street when he crashed into the back of an ambulance that was parked on the shoulder of the road.

Nobody in the ambulance was hurt, but Gonzalez was pronounced dead at the scene.

Casillas, who also suffered injuries, was hospitalized before being arrested and booked on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and felony driving under the influence causing bodily injury.
