(L.A.) Micaela Balderas, 57, Innocent Victim in Police Chase

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 57-year-old Latin American female that occurred in a hospital.
The coroner’s office has identified the woman as Micaela Balderas.

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Sunday at 3:21 a.m.
The decedent was one of three fatalities in an early Sunday morning crash involving a driver who was fleeing from police after a possible catalytic converter theft.
Micaela’s husband Flavio died on the scene of the accident, while she was transported to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The couple had attended a quinceañera celebration and were heading home when the crash happened.
The incident started in South Gate and ended in a two-vehicle crash around 2 a.m. at State Street and Tweedy Boulevard in Lynwood.
The third victim was identified as James Griffin, 20, supposedly a passenger in the car that the police were chasing.
