Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 53-year-old Black male that occurred at a hotel.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Joe Pettis.

Manner of Death: Suicide

Cause of Death: Sharp-Force Neck Injury

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Monday at 11:55 a.m.

The government investigator had initially given the decedent’s name as Joe Pettis III.
