(L.A.) Yairo Mejia, 28, Died at a Freeway Underpass

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 28-year-old Latin American male that occurred at a freeway underpass.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Yairo Mejia.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Fluorofentanyl and Methamphetamine Toxicity

RIP YAIRO MEJIA (March 13, 1994 – March 5, 2023)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Sunday at 12:34 p.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on January 14, presumably after the results of tox screening came back positive from the lab.

This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.
