Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 78-year-old Black male that occurred at his residence.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as William Session.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Combined Effects of Thermal Injuries and Smoke Inhalation

Other Significant Conditions: Medical History of Tobacco Smoking, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease and Lung Cancer

RIP WILLIAM SESSION (August 20, 1945 – June 10, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Monday at 10:55 a.m.

The decedent was unfortunately bedridden and was unable to escape when a fire engulfed his home.
