Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 57-year-old Black female that occurred in a shelter.

The coroner’s office has identified the woman as Theresa Phillips.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death A: Sudden Cardiac Death

Cause of Death B: Atherosclerotic Heart Disease

Other Significant Conditions: Methamphetamine and Cocaine Effects; Aortic Atherosclerosis; Fatty Liver

This is considered an accidental drug overdose.
