Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 45-year-old Hispanic female that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office identified the woman as Teresa Castaneda.

Manner of Death: Natural

Cause of Death A: Saddle Pulmonary Embolism

Cause of Death B: Probable Lower Extremity Deep Vein Thrombosis

Other Significant Conditions: Obesity, Dilated Cardiomyopathy, Coronary Artery Disease, and History of Hypertension and Abdominal Hernia Status Post Hernia Repair, Abdominoplasty and Mammoplasty

RIP TERESA CASTANEDA (March 26, 1979 – January 13, 2025)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Monday at 8:23 p.m.

The Department of Medical Examiner publicly disclosed the CoD ruling on March 31.
