difluoroethane
Difluoroethane is an aerosol propellant found in spray cans. It is the refrigerant gas used for “huffing.”
When inhaled, DFE can have significant toxic effects. It is believed to sensitize myocardial tissues to catecholamines, which can lead to fatal cardiac arrhythmias. Additionally, it can cause a rapid and irreversible loss of consciousness, often leading to sudden death.
